Dr. Siba Sankar Mohanty has experience in teaching, research and editing. Dr. Mohanty is teaching as an Assistant Professor, Centre for Diaspora Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, Central University of Gujarat since 2011. He has completed his doctoral research with specialisation on the literary, socio-cultural and political aspects of Indian diaspora in the Caribbean and V.S. Naipauls writings from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has completed his M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University with his dissertation on Indian ethnic identity in the Caribbean and V.S. Naipauls A House For Mr. Biswas. Before joining the Central University of Gujarat he was working on a regular basis as an Assistant Programme Officer, India Office, New Delhi of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, a unique bi-national research institute between the Government of India and Government of Canada. He has taught English as a guest faculty at NCWEB, University of Delhi. He has worked as an Editorial Associate with the Indian Foreign Affairs Journal, a unique quarterly peer reviewed journal published by the Association of Indian Diplomats, New Delhi. And he has also worked honourarily as an Editorial Associate with Eurasian Report, a quarterly journal published by Eurasian Foundation, New Delhi. He has published research papers on varied aspects of Indian diaspora. He has also been one of the editors to two books, Contemporary Odisha: Realties and Vision, and Emerging Odisha Problems and Prospects. He has presented papers at various international and national conferences on the theoretical contours of diaspora, literary, socio-cultural, political and economic aspects of Indian diaspora in the Caribbean, Fiji and other parts of the globe, V.S. Naipauls writings etc. Eight M.Phil. and Ph.D. students of the Centre are working under his supervision.
